Building Stronger Neighborhoods Together

A strong community is built on meaningful partnerships.

The GCE's Community Engagement arm builds on Johns Hopkins’ deep roots in Baltimore, working alongside trusted community-based organizations to address local needs and enhance the well- being of residents around our campuses.

As a longtime Baltimore anchor institution, we're committed to being a good neighbor and supporting initiatives that make a real difference in our communities.

Community Partnerships Tackling Local Issues

Leveraging Johns Hopkins’ resources, our office works directly with community members and local organizations to tackle various challenges and create more opportunities for Baltimore residents.

From free legal clinics to holiday gift drives, our partnerships aim to deliver positive change in healthcare access, education, and economic development.

Data-Driven Community Health Initiatives

We prioritize community health through data-driven decision-making. Our Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNA) combine epidemiological data and community input to identify pressing local health needs.

This approach helps us strategically allocate Johns Hopkins’ resources to address the most urgent needs, maximizing our ability to create positive change in Baltimore's health landscape.
