GCE works to establish and foster communication between Johns Hopkins and the communities in our Baltimore footprint around our university campus and medical centers. Our office has several teams devoted to serving our communities, including the Community Engagement and Community Health Investment teams. Read more below!
Community Engagement
Our Community Engagement team interfaces with a broad range of non-profit, business and community organizations to support initiatives that improve the well-being of the community, addressing health, housing, economic development, transportation and safety issues with our community partners. The team organizes year-round programming which includes biannual expungement clinics, Earth Day Clean-ups, Eager Park concert series, Thanksgiving Turkey drives, and Holiday Gift Giving programs. Community Health Investment
Our Community Health Investment team is committed to supporting the community by identifying and investing in the most important health issues in our community. The team conducts a triennial Community Health Needs Assessment, surveying community members on the most pressing needs in their neighborhoods. These survey results dictate how and where Johns Hopkins invests moving forward. Click here to learn more about our Community Investment team.
